1. The Cooperative Philosophy

Working at Valkana is an exercise in presence. We operate as an integrated seasonal cooperative where every role—from dry-stone builders to culinary hosts—is valued as a co-creator of the overall space.

We reject industrial hospitality structures in favor of slow, deliberate work practices. We ensure reasonable hours, organic communal meals, and plenty of time for rest, sea bathing, and reflection. If you are passionate about sustainable tourism, architectural heritage, spatial music, or somatics, we invite you to join our circle.

2. Active Circles (Open Roles)

For our Summer 2028 gatherings along the Adriatic coastline, we are seeking representatives for the following departments:

A. Somatic & Wellness Guide (Sector C)

Leading somatic breathing guidance, morning meditation workshops, and cold seawater plunges. You will curate the atmosphere of the tidepools and cliffside quiet areas. Experience in yoga, bodywork, or mindfulness training is required.

B. Spatial Sound Technician (Sector A & B)

Responsible for managing the L-Acoustics arrays and acoustic calibration inside limestone ruins and natural coastal hollows. You will support live ambient artists, vinyl selectors, and acoustic performers. Experience with spatial audio networks is strongly preferred.

C. Dry-Stone Masonry Apprentice (Sector A)

Working under master masons to construct and maintain windbreaks, temporary terraces, and pathways using traditional dry-stone masonry. No concrete is used. Requires physical stamina and an interest in historical stone preservation.

D. Aesthetic Hospitality Host

Managing check-ins at our villa networks, coordinating long-table dinners under olive groves, and curating guest logistics with warmth and attention to detail. Experience in boutique hospitality is required.

3. Application Process

Valkana recruits crew members selectively based on structural skill and community alignment.

• Submission Window: Applications remain open until March 1, 2028.
• Statement of Intent: We do not require corporate resumes. Instead, write a detailed statement describing your path, your relationship with the Adriatic coastline, and how you co-create space.
• On-Site Training: All selected crew members participate in a 5-day on-site somatic alignment and ecological briefing prior to guest arrivals.
